To be or Not to be Vegan

I love when you say you will “start something” and then it doesn’t happen, it can be extremely frustrating. This week I participated in the 7 Day Vegan Challenge for 2 days. Yes that’s right, 2 days. Pretty sad I know. It started out well, actually I shouldn’t say well, for someone who loves eggs and cheeses it was not fun. Also for someone who is not a good vegetable eater you find out very quickly that being vegan doesn’t always mean healthy.

What is a Vegan? Vegan.org says “a vegan is someone who, for various reasons, chooses to avoid using or consuming animal products. While vegetarians choose not to use flesh foods, vegans also avoid dairy and eggs, as well as fur, leather, wool, down, and cosmetics or chemical products tested on animals.”  So that meant for me no eggs, no cheese, and no meat. And what did that leave me with? French fries… okay not just french fries but that did happen on the second day. By doing this I did realize one very  important thing. How important it is that I include more vegetables in my diet and french fries DO NOT count as a vegetable (even though I was secretly pretending they did and probably will still believe for quite sometime).

So what happened this week? Why couldn’t I stick to it. There are a couple of reasons, stress being number one. This week was the week before my project launched which meant long hours, limited choices, and personally when I am stressed vegetables are the last thing I want to eat, I normally go for the oreos, that my lovely office supplies for me. And I normally end up looking like the little girl to the left, it is always a lovely sight. So the first challenge I took on didn’t go so well but the best part is, there is another day, another week, another year and I have plenty of time to get this right. This is my journey and I am going to do it my way. Being a vegan was just not for me. I do have another challenge in mind but you will just have to wait to find out what it is…. But I am very excited to tell you.

This week is going to be extremely stressful for me, my project is launching this week and there is a lot that needs to get done. I will make sure to take many pictures of the launch it is going to be a lot of fun, I will give you a hit… Baby we were Born this Way! My goal is to stay focused and still get my spinning in (which I made it to this morning!). Here’s to a new week.

I just wanted to apologize for my lack of posts. Work has been getting really busy and I have barely had anytime to breathe let alone write. I am thinking of a solution to this problem because I love this blog and I am not willing to stop writing so please hang in there with me while I try to figure out the best way to do both. I have some really exciting things coming up. Product reviews and multiple DVD giveaways. Thank you for all of your support and please keep reading!
